Our European adventure continues!
We are in Tuscany staying in a villa right outside of Lucca on a beautiful hilltop. The area is surrounded by olive trees and vineyards along with incredible manicured gardens.
There are adorable little villages around and above us perched on the side of the mountains with tasty restaurants and village specialties. We are enjoying the views and getting to know everyone here. Flavia, the villa’s owner, has been an amazing host. I cant wait to share all of our adventures and experiences we’ve had while staying at Villa Baggine.
While at the villa, we’ve been cooking and baking and enjoying the ease of finding everything we need in one place. I usually have to search for exactly what I need at a variety of speciality stores in the states. Here at the neighborhood supermarket we have a full aisle of cured meats and a glorious selection of cheeses. I know this is something I’ll miss once we are back home.
In the meantime I will keep my eyes open for things you and I will find interesting. One great find so far are recipes that Flavia has shared with me, along with the generations-old techniques she uses. I can’t wait to pass them along to you!
