I am dreaming up an Under the Sea Mermaid Party for my daughter. She is turning 6 next month and is enchanted with mermaids, island myths, and treasures. I thought what a great idea for her birthday. I am picturing hues of white, brown, and coral and of course a blue that pops.
While searching around for ideas on how to pull this together I stumbled upon Kate Landers. I love how she pulled together a mystical mermaid theme for one of her clients. I plan on bringing some of her creative ideas to the party with star fish wands, brown sugar for sand on the dessert table, and chocolate sea shells along with the adorable sea horse and sand dollar cookies.
Even though I love the color palette of Kate’s mermaid theme I know that I need to incorporate blue. I am planning on cupcakes that sparkle adorned with sand dollars. Smoked Salmon canapés, Jelly Fish (PB&J) sandwiches, platters of shrimp, and sea shell pasta with a cheese sauce.
I am thinking of fun activities that include creating a treasure box adorned with jewels then off to the backyard for a treasure hunt under the sea. All of these ideas are spinning in my head right now. I just completed the invitations and will be sending them out soon. I decide on this gorgeous Under the Sea Invite from Bnute Productions. I absolutely LOVE IT and love the pale blue and will be incorporating that into the color palette. Stay tuned!

This is such a cute idea. Too bad I don’t have a little girl!
