Fresh Watermelon Margaritas

Description

Nothing screams summer like fresh watermelon. These frozen margaritas will leave you wanting more.

Servings

6

Ingredients

6 cups watermelon, cubed & seeded
1 cup silver tequila
1/2 cup Cointreau
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
1/4 cup sugar

Preparation

Prep watermelon the day before making these margaritas. Buy one ~4 lb seedless watermelon, removing rind and cutting fruit in to cubes (think large ice cube size). Put watermelon in airtight container and freeze overnight.

Put frozen watermelon in blender along with other ingredients. Blend. Serve.

Notes

Blended watermelon will tend to separate after awhile, so make only as many margaritas as you'll drink at a time.

For something a little more festive: put a drop of red food coloring in to your batch of margaritas to overly emphasize the watermelon appeal. Rim martini or margarita glass with green sugar and serve.

  1. Sweet! floating ice chips are the best. I just had dinner at the Ninfas, on Navigation (Houston, TX) and they have watermelon margaritas on their menu. This drink def says summer!
