We loved the chandeliers at the French Antique Shop in New Orleans and wanted to share them with you. They are really breathtaking. The one that really caught my attention was the ship. It is the perfect light fixture for a little boys’ room especially if you are dreaming up a Peter Pan/lost boy’s adventure. We thought all of the chandeliers were gorgeous especially the blue – turquoise with gold angels.
There are so many places you can hang a chandelier to create a unique feel in your home. I have quite a few different styles tucked away in different areas around the house.
1. Over Kitchen Sink: I have a tiny chandeliers that really creates a nice focal point in the kitchen
2. Powder Room: In front of a mirror in our downstairs powder room
3. Master Bath: Centered in the Master Bathroom
4. Bedrooms: My daughter has a lovely grey chandelier in her lavender room
5. Dining Room: The chandelier over our dining room table was polished brass. We sanded it down and sprayed a mute gold finish and added beautiful candlesticks with the flicker bulb to create a great look.
Chandeliers are a wonderful addition to dressing up a variety of rooms. Here is a great post by Joni Webb at her blog Cote de Texas on areas you might want to consider putting a chandelier. There are several pictures within the post to get you thinking about the rooms in your home and how to incorporate different styles of lighting.

I love that blue chandelier. It really stood out. I can't believe I didn't visit it when I was there last. Next time for sure. Happy to see more pictures from this trip!

@Carlie I like the modern murano glass chandeliers in a contemporary setting. I think in a dark room the white ones really pop. Have you looked at them before? Valobra located in Houston and New Orleans (site is: http://www.valobra.net/lighting_1.htm) has the more traditional ones but if you do an image search for "modern murano glass chandeliers" you will find some of the more modern ones. Is there a specific style you are looking for?

I’ve been looking for a chandelier for our dining room on and off. We have a fairly contemporary house, though — any suggestions where I can look for a contemporary chandelier?
